Federation Hut

Federation Hut in Hotham Heights, Victoria, is a mountain refuge hut in the Alpine National Park that sleeps eight people and includes toilet facilities and picnic tables.

Located at an altitude of 1740m, it is popular amongst walkers and skiers venturing into the area and serves as a convenient overnight option.

The access to the hut is either by walking or skiing, depending on the season, with the route from the carpark varying in length and difficulty.

Fireplaces are prohibited, so you need to pack your cooking equipment if necessary, and there is no drinking water available at the site so it must be carried in.
